Privé and Google collaborate on landmark report

As part of Google’s ongoing commitment to help digitize Hong Kong, they, together with Quinlan and Associates, have launched a new report titled Smarter Digital City: Advancing Hong Kong’s FinTech Ecosystem. This report comprehensively reviews the FinTech landscape in Hong Kong, including examining the various hurdles and priorities Hong Kong FinTechs face. The report includes feedback from 126 C-suite executives, including in-depth discussions with nine late-stage FinTechs and two policymakers. From these responses, key challenges that FinTechs struggle to overcome are sales and marketing, product innovation and finding the right talent and funding. In addition, regulatory issues have been identified as a pressing matter, with 60% of FinTechs feeling as though Hong Kong’s international competitiveness as a FinTech hub.
